Re-introduction of Original T-A Design in 3-8 Series |
| The 3-8 series Original T-A® design is intended for use in applications where machine rigidity is not stable. With the Original T-A® design the wider chisel nose, while generating more thrust than the GEN2 T-A®, is more robust in low rigidity applications. | |

To help with this situation, AMEC is stocking an offering of the Original T-A® design. In the #3 and #4 series, inserts will be stocked in common sizes made from Super Cobalt with TiN coating. In the 5-8 series, common sizes will be stocked made from HSS with TiN coating. Any other coatings or sizes are available as non-stocked standards, and process fees will apply. | Allied Machine & Engineering Corp. proudly introduces the Opening Drill™. The Opening Drill™ is an extremely effective tool designed to
enlarge existing holes. AMEC offers the Opening Drill™ in 5 different shank styles; Straight, ABS 63, CAT V40/CAT V50, HSK 63A/C / HSK 100A/C, and BT 40 / BT 50.
The initial release consists of a drill diameter range of 2.00" - 5.62" and drill holders in 1 - 2.5x depth to diameter ratios. The drill holders are available with both straight flute and replaceable, adjustable cartridges. The proprietary insert will be offered in AM200® and TiN coating as stocked standards. TiAlN and TiCN coatings are offered as non-stocked standards. |

New EcoCut Catalog Now Available |
| AMEC is pleased to announce the revised EcoCut Catalog. This new catalog incorporates four new grades and two newly designed geometries added to
improve performance and finish. These new inserts are offered in addition to the current EcoCut insert offering. The new carbide grades are designed to improve tool life up to 150% over the current EcoCut offering. The innovative carbide substrates utilize gradient peripheral zones for excellent cutting edge stability. This, along with advanced CVD and PVD coatings, allow for dramatic increases in tool life. The MasterFinish geometry for steels, -M50Q, is designed to allow for feed rate increases up to 100% over the current EcoCut offering. It allows the tool to maintain or improve surface finish, even at these increased feed rates. The MasterFinish edge smoothes surface imperfections created during the turning, boring, or facing operations resulting in dramatic improvements in finish. The MasterFinish geometry has also been applied to the H210T grade for aluminum and high temp alloys with the -27Q geometry. This geometry is similar in design to the -M50Q style, but offers a highly polished surface to minimize chip welding in gummy aluminum applications. The new EcoCut catalog also features easier to read speed and feed charts, and better insert identification to simplify the ordering process. Download Brochure |
