The Challenge

A mold shop that specializes in small production parts for the tool and die industry is machining a stainless steel proprietary component that requires drilling 4 holes. They use a Mori Seiki VMC running with 250 PSI (17 bar) through-tool coolant.

Needing better results than these tests showed, the customer requested a solution to reduce cycle time and decrease the cost of production.

The ASC 320 successfully reduced cycle time and increased tool life for the customer.
